This weekend was a bit of a whirlwind as I traveled to St. Louis for Spring Quilt Market 2017.
Unlike exhibiting at Fall Quilt Market 2016 , where I never left the booth, this time, I had the chance to see all the booths and see the show. Here are some highlights from the weekend:
First stop was the Aurifil booth to check out the Sew Many Colors mini contest winners in person!
Chatting with Alex about new thread collections. Check out winning quilts by Laura Piland and Jenny Nault Meeker along back wall.
Sew Many Colors winning quilt by Nicole Buckley .
I fell in love with this quilt by Sari Thomas . It’s quilted with all 270 Colors of 40wt thread.
I also had a chance to visit by 270 Colors quilt that I designed and made for Aurifil late last year. It’s quilted using all 270 Colors of 50wt Aurifil. Click here to learn see how it was created. I’m really excited to continue my relationship with this incredible company as an Aurifil Artisan .
Love these prints by Cloud 9!
Really fun laminated fabric by Kokka Fabric!
I loved seeing Jacquie Gerhing’s quilted samples in the Paintbrush Studio. I recently discovered their solids (Painter’s Palette Solids) and have really enjoyed working with them.
Color Wheel quilt by Kim Eichler-Messmer using Painter’s Palette Solids.
I’m a BIG fan of Jennifer Sampou and her work. Her new collection, Shimmer On, doesn’t disappoint!
Amy Butler’s latest collection, Soul Mate, ships in July.
Being a child of the 80s, Latifah Saafir’s new collection—Double Dutch— totally speaks to me!

I’m so excited for Christopher Thompson! His booth introducing his debut collection (and complementary Aurifil sets) was beautiful! You can find his collection, Blue Carolina, in shops later this year. I also had a chance to visit the mini I made for his booth!
Needle Up and Down mini quilt. Designed, pieced and quilted by Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill | Whole Circle Studio
Since I finished up my Shutter Snap quilt just in the nick of time, it traveled with me to St. Louis! This sample uses Chroma by Alison Glass. The Shutter Snap pattern will be released this week on my website!
What’s a quilt event without a quilt show, even if it’s a mini quilt show? There were about 20 quilts included in a traveling show entitled “Quilts: A World of Beauty” presented by the International Quilt Association. Here were two of my favorites:
The Salt March Near First Encounter Beach (Tuning Fork #29) by Heather Pregger

Even with the quick overnight trip, I had a chance to walk over to the St. Louis Arch. Amazing!
