Check this out! I designed a pair of leggings (also doubles as a high quality Yoga pant!). The printing on the leggings is so incredible—they look like they’re quilted but they’re not!

Seriously! It’s hard to distinguish the printed leggings from the actual quilt!
I designed these yoga pants/leggings exclusively for Makers’ Mercantile. These incredible leggings are totally opaque and are made of a 4-way stretch polyester/spandex blend that conforms to your body in every direction. They move when you move, like a second skin. Durable and breathable, they’re perfect for the dance floor, the yoga mat, the studio or the streets. They are printed and sewn in Seattle, WA on fabric made in Italy and are available in 11 sizes!

Here’s a little bit about the design and my inspiration…

If you’re a regular reader of this blog or follow me on Instagram, you know that I am completely obsessed with Hawaiian-inspired design (you can read more about my obsession here!).

I love working in series or themes, so earlier this year I continued the Hawaiian-inspired theme and did a sunset companion quilt to my Sun Salutations quilt (shown above).  While vacationing on the Big Island of Hawaii a few years ago, I took LOTS of photos, including lots of sunset photos.

To make my modern interpretation of Hawaiian sunsets, I modified the traditional Drunkard’s Path block. Here is my first Kona Sunset quilt:
