In the Studio Episode 5: Scrappy Quilt Binding – Tips, Tools & My Favorite Supplies

woman holding a colorful quilt.

In this episode of In the Studio, I’m sharing how I make scrappy quilt binding using leftover binding strips from quilts I’ve made over the years. I’ll also walk you through some of my favorite quilt binding tips, tools, and supplies that make the finishing process a little easier.

I’ve been saving leftover binding for years, and I finally decided to put some of those scraps to good use on my scrappy version of the Backyard Bunch quilt. I’ll show you how I sorted through my stash of binding, pieced together the green strips, and used them to finish the quilt.

I’ll also share how I like to attach my quilt binding, along with some of the tools I reach for when hand stitching the binding to the back.

Whether you have a collection of leftover binding strips or are looking for new ways to finish your quilts, I hope you’ll find some inspiration and helpful ideas here.

Let’s get into it!
