Staying organized is key! Be sure to label your pairs from the beginning.

… and keep them organized after you cut your Half Square Triangles (HSTs).

I press and trim my HSTs in groups—keeping pairs together and labeled.

I like to use a combination of Wonder Clips and pins (depending on the number of fabric pieces in the group) to attach my labeled slips of paper.

Put the pieces together, row by row. Be sure to watch the video above for lots of my tips and tricks, including how to get precise alignments by positioning pinning.  One of the tools I love using (and demonstrate) are Iris Superfine pins—they are very thin and don’t bend. I find this makes my pinning and sewing more accurate.
