Best in Show quilt

My quilt pattern designs are often inspired by current events (if you missed it, check out 6 Foot Ruler). As we’re looking to close out this unprecedented and bizarre year, everyone truly deserves an award for making it through 2020. To facilitate giving out awards, I offer you my latest quilt pattern, Best in Show:

I received a sneak peek of Stay Gold, a new fabric collection by Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society just as I was designing Best in Show. As soon as I saw the motifs on the panel fabric that is part of this collection, I knew it was a match made in heaven with the pattern. The adorable telephone, sunglasses, flowers, and more are perfect for fussy cutting and to use for the featured center of the awards.

Quilts aren’t just for snuggling under.

I am a firm believer that quilts are art, so why not frame quilt tops? After making blocks with the Hooked fabric collection by Mathew Boudreaux for Art Gallery Fabrics, I framed Best in Show crochet and yarn inspired blocks.

I loved making this mini Best in Show for my Studio with Tula Pink’s Homemade fabric collection and Aurifil 50wt thread on my Janome 6700p. It’s the perfect mini to hang in a sewing space or for a mini quilt swap!
