Let’s piece Block 3!

Block 3 utilizes Quarter Square Triangles. Don’t fear—if you can make a Half Square Triangle, the Quarter Square Triangle (QST) will be a piece of cake! Head on over to Leah’s blog to learn how to make the QST units needed for this block.

I can’t stress it enough—organization is key! Be sure to keep labeling your cut pieces. Also, use your labeled swatch collection for determining color orientation and placement of each cut fabric piece, Half Square Triangle (HST) and Quarter Square Triangle (QST).

Pay close attention to the color orientation for the QSTs in the Block 3 Assembly Diagram. For each pair, there will be a “correct” QST and a “wrong” QST. The “wrong” QST is an extra piece and isn’t used in this block—see the video above for more details.
